THIRD WORLD AND MANILAMANIC POEMS
SOMETIMES MOTHERS
Sometimes mothers must decide
								how to allocate their nurture
								chosen children to survive
								providing for a future
Sometimes mothers love the child
								as they let it succumb
								providing only mercies mild
								when something could be done
Sometimes mothers choose the one
that men will want for work or war
not the daughter but the son
								the one they most adore
Humans now are the result
								of allowing mothers to decide
survivors should be slow to fault
								family planning infanticide
